My career started in marine sciences! In 2017 I moved to Charleston, SC for my Master's degree in Marine Biology. After graduating in 2020, I continued working at the NOAA Hollings Marine Laboratory. My work involved responding to stranded marine mammals along the SC coast, conducting necropsies, and continuing microplastic research.
One of the greatest perks of this job were the frequent field days exploring the marshes and secluded islands around Charleston. It was here that I really became interested in creatively capturing the flora and fauna around me.
In 2022, I illustrated “The Little Sailor’s ABCs,” by Elayna Carausu. This was my first step into the world of illustration and I completely fell in love!
I soon began writing and illustrating my own books, melding my love of adventure, whimsy, and the environment. Thus, The Adventurous Readers Series was born!
